Waitaki Unt. purchase
Waitaki International’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Waitaki Meats, Ltd, will purchase the Auckland-based meat wholesale operations of Kellax Foods, Ltd, for an undisclosed sum. The managing director of Waitaki International, Mr Barney Sundstrum, said the move was part of a strategy to increase the company’s domestic sales of processed and branded meat products in North Island markets. Further moves were being contemplated by Waitaki on the domestic front, but at this stage the company intended the consolidation and expansion of its entry into the Auckland region as a priority.
