South Island ski-field reports received yesterday by the New Zealand Snow Centre in Christchurch were* — Remarkables.— Open; 45cm snow base; last fall Bcm October 5; packed powder; all facilities operating except Shadow Basin chair; chains required. Cardrona.— Open; last fall 10cm October 5; all facilities operating except double chair; chains to be carried. Tasman Glacier. - Open; ski planes operating subject to weather. Fox Glacier.— Open; ski planes and helicopter operating: advance reservations required. Harris Mountains heliski. Open’ 100 cm snow base; last fall 50cm October 5. helicopters operating subject to weather; Tyndall Glacier specials available.
