Guards put out fire

Security guards prevented a deliberately lit fire from causing any damage at Ascot TV Sales and Services, Sydenham, on Tuesday. The guards were patrolling the shopping area at the corner of Colombo Street and Wordsworth Street at 11.15 p.m. when they noticed sacks had been placed next to a wall of a shed and set alight. They were able to put the fire out before any damage was caused.
