One-in-two holds passport
PA Wellington One in every two New Zealanders now holds a valid passport, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Dr Bassett, said yesterday. This year demand for passports increased by more than 40,000 over last year, he said.
One reason for the increased demand was availability of special air fares.
The high value of the dollar in recent months had also made overseas travel more attractive.
