Marshall to visit Europe
PA Wellington The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Marshall, will leave for Europe late next month, taking his turn on the trade beat and also attending to diplomatic matters. The two-week visit will be Mr Marshall’s second trip to Europe this year.
Other Ministers to have travelled to Europe this year to put New Zealand’s case for the future of its $3OO million butter trade with Britain include the Prime Minister, Mr Lange, and the Minister of Overseas Trade, Mr Moore. '<
Britain, Spain and Luxemburg were definitely bn Mr Marshall’s itinerary but the rest of his plans had yet to be confirmed, a spokesman from his office said. He will be in Britain on October 3 to address the Commonwealth Institute on environmental issues in the South Pacific, and the New Zealand-United Kingdom Chamber of Commerce.
In Spain, Mr Marshall will take up the Spanish Government’s official invitation for a New Zealand Minister to visit. The invitation resulted from the visit of Spain’s King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia to New Zealand in June;
