Call Carpetline before you make a major buy

It’s free, independent, and it’ll take the headache out of making a major investment, says the New Zealand Wool Board. Carpetline is a new service offered by the board, to guide consumers contemplating a carpet purchase. By ringing the toll free Carpetline number — Wellington 732-690 — consumers nationwide can get immediate advice on all aspects of buying a carpet. The prospect of making a carpet purchase should be an enjoyable one. Pure new wool carpet transforms a house into a home, introducing warmth, comfort, style, and safety. It soon becomes an integral part of home life, retaining important family memories and associations.

But buying a carpet is a major investment for any household. The majority of potential purchasers don’t have a vast store of knowledge about such things as construction, pile weights, fibre content, colour, style and texture, and are worried about making a wrong

decision when they buy. This is where Carpetline comes in. It’s an independent service callers can phone in from anywhere in the country, and the cost of the call is automatically charged to the Wool Board. The service _is being advertised nationwide in daily papers, magazines, and in the Yellow Pages. Advertisements are couponed, so inquirers can also write in for information or booklets on, for example, Wool Tweed carpets, or “Choosing the Right Carpet.” Carpetline was tested in Wellington before it was launched nationally, and the response was very encouraging. “Many people used to contact us with carpet inquiries before Carpetline was set up, so we are delighted to be able to provide such a valuable service to assist consumers in making a good investment for their homes and families,” says Shelley Wilson, product marketing manager at the New Zealand Wool Board.
