Enzo Ferrari dies
NZPA-Reuter Italy Enzo Ferrari, founder of Italy’s legendary sports car company, has died aged 90, the company said yesterday. A company statement said Ferrari, who had been ill for some time, died at his Modena home on Sunday. Ferrari dwarfed the Italian motor-racing scene with a career that saw his
scarlet Formula One cars reap nine world championships, a feat unmatched by any other stable. The cars, carrying a distinctive prancing horse motif, are a source of deep national pride in Italy. The statement said the announcement of the death was delayed until after the funeral had been held.
