Armed men steal $l000

Two shotgun-wielding men held up the New Brighton Service Station, in Hawke Street last evening, taking up to $lOOO. A police spokesman said the robbery happened about 8 p.m.

-The robbers fled on a motor-cycle. No-one was injured. The service station owner, Mr Jim Glassey, said a garage attendant had been working at the service centre when the

two men arrived. He said the attendant, aged about 25, had been “very shaken” by the ordeal. The police spokesman said they were following positive leads.
