Freezing works talks

More redundancy talks for 1670 workers at the Islington freezing works and the Burnside works in Dunedin are planned for today. The third day of talks this week between the combined unions and Waitaki International, Ltd, which owns both plants, ended in Christchurch yesterday.
The New Zealand Meat Workers’ Union national secretary, Mr Jack Scott, said after yesterday’s session that there had been no development.
