Holyoake memorial
The Government will soon announce commissioning of a memorial to the late Prime Minister and Governor-General, Sir Keith Holyoake. While it is traditional to commemorate Prime Ministers after their death, a memorial for Sir-Keith has been a controversial matter since the Government in 1984 reversed the National Government’s decision to name the new National Library after Sir Keith. An announcement on Sir Keith’s memorial could be expected very soon, an Internal Affairs' Department official said yesterday. — PA.
