Boy dies after rugby injury
PA Wanganui A Wanganui schoolboy has died after being injured in a rugby match last Saturday. He was

The police said an inquest would be held into his death.
Wiari, a Counties under 19 player, suffered a knock while making a tackle in a match against Taihape Pirates at Taihape. He continued playing for the remaining 15 minutes as the injury did not need attention, the police said. However, later that evening he complained of headaches. He was taken to Wanganui Base Hospital the next day and was put in intensive care. He died on Monday. His funeral will be held at Kaiwhaiki marae today. The police are inquiring into his movements from the match at Taihape to his admission to hospital.
