Graduation show

The Christchurch Academy’s performing arts department and the Film Production Training Programme have collaborated for the department’s graduation production. It is Bruce Mason’s “The Made Man,” and will be produced by the head of the department, Mark Prain. The presentation is a multi media one. It includes live performance by 10 actors, a filmed sequence and sound. The production has come from Mason’s acclaimed solo work “End of the Golden Weather.” Adapted for 10 actors, it is a celebration and evocation of New Zealand, says Prain. Stuart Devenie will direct the production, which has four performances, at 8 p.m. on July 28, 29 and 30 and at 4 p.m. on July 31. The venue will be the academy in Manchester Street. The proceeds from the performances will go to the Roadshow Trust. Actors from the academy are involved in the present touring Roadshow productions.
