Woman had 16 personalities
“Sybil,” the two-part mini-series about a young woman tormented by her 16 different personalities, makes a return to the screen in the Mid-Week Mini-Series slot this afternoon at 12.40 on Two. (The conclusion screens next Wednesday at the same time.) Starring Sally Field as Sybil and Joanne Woodward as her psychiatrist, Dr Wilburn, the drama is
based on the experiences of a real woman who was the subject of a best-seller by Flora Rheta Schreiber. First released in 1976, “Sybil” won rave reviews from the American press, who hailed it as one of the best TV movies ever made. The “New York Daily News” critic said, “Sally Field gives a devastating portrayal.. .No one can fault the flawless performances of both stars.”
