These are new and challenging appointments. They arise out of the responsibilities imposed on the Department by the new State Sector Act 1988, to develop appropriate personnel and industrial policies for its 7000 employees. The positions will appeal to graduates from appropriate disciplines seeking a career in the personnel poticy/industrial relations field, or to persons with 1 to 3 years related experience who are seeking further challenge. The appointees will deal with the development and implementation of personnel and industrial relations policies across a broad range of issues, and will gain experience in the operation of both the State Sector Act 1988, and the Labour Relations Act 1987. There will be a requirement to travel throughout New Zealand from time to time. The positions are graded within the Public Service Executive/Clerical class range of 007.101 - 106, and salary on appointment will be determined on the basis of qualifications and relevant experience.
