Dance workshop

“Does Your Mongoose Dance in the Rain?” is the title Stephen Lardner has given his dance workshop. It is for anyone interested in rhythm movement and body percussion, he says. The aim is to create a story which is then relayed through sound and movement. The workshop will use gesture, sound and movement to give life to the stories and myths of the imagination. Lardner says no experience is necessary for the July 16 and 17 workshop at the Cranmer Centre. The cost for the two-day workshop is $4O. It will run from 12.30 p.m. until 6.30 p.m. each day. Lardner was originally from Christchurch. He trained at the National School of Dance in Wellington and the Drama Action Centre in Sydney. He now lives in Sydney where he teaches full time. He was a founder member of the dance group, Splits.
