Town Planning MOUNT HERBERT COUNTY COUNCIL THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1977 PUBLIC NOTICE OF PROPOSED CHANGE TO COUNTY .OF MOUNT HERBERT DISTRICT SCHEME. THE Mount Herbert County Council has prepared a proposed change to its District Scheme under Section 55 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1977. The following is a summary and explanation of the proposed change. CHANGE NO. 10 ALTERATION TO RESERVOIR DESIGNATIONS. Governors Bay is soon to acxqulre a piped water supply. For this to occur, suitable land is resquired for the water holding reservoirs. Among other matters, Scheme Change Number 9 proposed a number os Ites for this purposes. However, on public notification several landowners objected to some of the sites. Consequently it has been necessary to review the situation and offer some alterantive sites. The change is available for inspection at the Council Offices at the corner of London and Canterbury Streets, Lyttelton, as from Wednesday, July 13, 1988. Any person may object to, or make submissions on the proposed change. These objections and submissions should be made on a special form available at the Council Offices and should be lodged at the Council Offices not later than 4 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 1988. At a later date every submission and objection will be open for public Inspection and any body or person who wishes to support or oppose any submission or objection will be entitled to do so. J. H. TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1977 WAIMAIRI DISTRICT SCHEME Public Notification of Variations to District Scheme (Second Review) THE Council has prepared the following variations to the District Scheme Review. VARIATION NO. 28 This variation creates a new zone to be called the Residential L (Lifestyle) zone, and zones land In Redwood, generally bounded by Cavendish Road, Barnes Road, Styx Mill Road, the Main North road, and the South Island Main Trunk Railway as Residential L. That land is currently zoned Industrial Gl. It also Includes land on the north side of Styx Mill Road, which would be developed as Open Space (Reserve). The Residential L zoning provides for low density residential use, with an environment more characteristic of rural areas, including large sections, a limited range of permitted uses, walkways, walking paths and horse tracks, and designed to complement the Council’s proposed development of the Styx Basin Reserve. Lot sizes of between 2000 and 7000 sq m are provided, with a maximum of 100 lots in the zone. . VARIATION NO. 29 This variation adds a new definition “controlled use” to the Scheme and also amends the definition of “site” so that it more accurately reflects the provision of the Unit Titles Act 1972 and the Local Government Act 1974. The amendments are proposed as a consequence of the proposal to create a Residential L zone (Variation No. 28). Details of the above described variations may be inspected at the following places at any time when they are open to the public: Walmairl District Council offices, corner Jeffreys Road and Clyde Roads, Fendalton. Submissions and objections to these variations or any parts thereof may be made by any body or persons affected or representing some relevant aspect of the public Interest. Submissions and objections shall be in writing in Form C prescribed in the First Schedule to the' Town and Country Planning Regulations 1978 or to the like effect and shall be lodged at the office of the Council not later than 4 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 1988. Forms for submissions and objections (Form C) are available at the Council’s offices and libraries listed above. At a later date every submission and objection will be open for public inspection and any body or person who wishes to support or oppose any submission or objection will be entitled to do so.
