Girl league star

PA Sydney An 11-year-old New Zealand girl joined the Great Britain team in making rugby league history at the Sydney Football Stadium on Saturday. Esther Faimanifo became the first female to play rugby league at the 40,000 capacity stadium which opened this year, when her Blairmont Primary School under 12 team met Bidwill Primary School in one of the curtain-raisers to the Great Britain-Australia test. Britain’s 26-12 win was its first test victory in Australia since 1974.
