Karate tournament

Possible selection for the New Zealand Karate Federation nationals at Auckland in October will be the incentive for the 80 or so competitors in the regional tournament at Roy Stokes Hall, New Brighton, on Saturday. Up to three competitors in each weight division will be selected for the N.Z.K.F. tournament.

Coming down for the tournament will be the technical director for the N.Z.K.F., Dennis May, who will be taking judging seminars on the Friday night. The tournament itself will act as a practical training ground for the judges with the final test for their certification on Sunday.
