Mr Russell Harrison, general manager.
Mr Harrison began as an auto electric apprentice, and joined Young Brothers in 1965. He made the progression from service manager to branch manager, and then to his present position as general manager, contributing greatly to the growth of the company along the way. He is a committee member of the Canterbury Motor Trade Apprenticeship Commission. Mr Harrison will now take up residence with the rest of Young Brothers’ head office in their new architect-de-signed building in Blenheim Road.
Mr John Gelens, chairman of-the board Mr Gelens has taken an active part in the development of Young Brothers, and this has been reflected in the company’s considerable progress during the last eight years. Mr Gelens joined Young Brothers as a consultant in 1980, and his drive and enthusiasm have been creating new opportunities for the company ever since — most recently the moving of Head office from Timaru to Christchurch, and now to the new Blenheim Road building.
