Special episode supports Telethon
As part of Telethon’s theme of preventing crime and violence, in the home and in society, a special episode of “Growing Pains” is screening tonight at 7 on Two.
The Home and Neighbourhood Trust will distribute funds raised to voluntary groups working in the areas of family support, neighbourhood support, the prevention of violence and drug and
alcohol abuse in New Zealand.
Tonight’s “Growing Pains” relates to this last category, when teenager Mike is offered drugs at a party and must bow to peer group pressure or lose face in front of his friends.
Mike has an important decision to make, and it is one which will affect not only the way other people feel about him, but also the way he feels about himself.
