Activists ‘good riddance’
PA Wellington Opposition . police spokesman, Mr Banks, has suggested Libya should give permanent residence to two visiting Maori activists in a telegram to the Libyan leader, Colonel Muammar Gadaffi. The two activists, Mr Syd Jackson, and Ms Deirdre Nehua, left New Zea-
land last week-end to visit Libya. “I seek leave to advise you that you have visiting your country two archexhibitionists from New Zealand,” Mr Banks said in the telegram sent yesterday. "You should know that 'they have absolutely no credibility whatsoever in this country. They are
lightweight political gadflies.
“The people of New Zealand are appalled at their idiotic antics.
“I invite you to consider permanent residence for these individuals as the vast majority of New Zealanders would be pleased to be rid of them,” said Mr Banks.
