Heart-warmer with a purpose
As with previous Telethon songs, this year’s “Love Can Find a Way” is written to warm the hearts and prompt the charitable instincts of New Zealanders.
“I hope it will also make people dip into their pockets a little deeper for this year’s Telethon,” says the composer, Carl Doy. Doy hopes the song highlights the. areas of concern for Telethon without preaching.
“It is not going to do very well if you start telling people what they can and can’t do. I have tried to mention the areas like fighting and killing, and child abuse, but with-
out putting too fine a point on each issue,” he says. Although the song was originally written for a male voice, it is sung as a duet by Richard Eriwata and Suzanne Lee. It also features 125 well-known New Zealanders.
