Jobs to go
Almost 1000 jobs would be lost over the next five years under a proposal to restructure the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the chairman Bob Somervaille announced. Fifteen per cent or 957 of the 6479 ABC staff would be phased out over the next five years if the proposal was accepted by the ABC board in August.—Sydney.
