Rugby upset
PA Wanganui Superb play by the midfield combination of Steve Gordon and John Hainsworth paved the way for Wanganui’s upset 29-18 victory over Hawke’s Bay in a representative rugby match at Spriggens Park yesterday. Wanganui 29 (John Hainsworth (2), Steve Gordon, Martin O’Connell and Solomon Su’a tries, Dion Maua penalty and three conversions) Hawke’s Bay 18 (Jason White try, Ross McLeod four penalties and a conversion). Hawke’s Bay beat Wanganui 23-11 in the colts’ match.
