Basketball win to Saints

PA Wellington Exchequer Saints rose from the cinders of their own dreams to defeat Ivon Watkins-Dow New Plymouth, 88-85, in a Countrywide League basketball match at Madgwick Stadium last evening. Saints’ dream of an undefeated season was in ashes when they trailed

New Plymouth by up to 17 points through the first half of a match which gripped its audience for 40 frenzied minutes. But they were lifted up on a tidal wave of support, in a stadium ringing with the shouted wishes of 2500 of their followers, to haul back New Plymouth’s lead and to carry their unbeaten run through eight matches.
