Jackie Jamieson, the successful Riccarton apprentice, only narrowly escaped serious injury during trackwork there yesterday when two dogs startled her charge, Tolman, as the horse was at full flight on the No. 1 grass. Jamieson was flung from the saddle and the horse careered around the track and into the stabling area before being caught. It was feared Jamieson had suffered rib injuries which would sideline her from tomorrow’s programme at the Hororata Racing Club’s meeting but she gained No. 1 Grass Easy -Red Hawk (Johnson) and Black Comet (Grenfell) 800 m in 50.45, last 600 m in 36.85.
