Health topics abound

Contributing to good health through healthy soil and food is. the end aim of all organic techniques. Converts to and enthusiasts of organic husbandry and agriculture tend to lend a sympathetic ear to many medical theories that place emphasis on allergies and the contributory role of toxins to illness.

The programme of attractions and speakers organised for the 1988 Symposium illustrates the connection between the two “alternative” approaches to growing and health. The after-dinner speakers next Saturday evening will be Dr Ted Pearson, a general practitioner who specialise in

treating allergies and M.E. syndrome. His speech will be titled, "Today’s food — tomorrow’s health.” Another speaker sure to attract wide interest will be Mrs Oline Ball of the Justice Department, Palmerston North. She is believed to be attaining fascinating results in behaviour modification with prisoners through dietary regimes. Members of the public wishing to attend the Symposium may still make late registrations. The cost for a day of attendance is $4O, for the week-end $6O. If they have not preenrolled they should be at Lincoln College by 8 a.m. on Saturday morning. Christchurch bookings may be made by telephoning 529-129 during the day. Evening contact phone numbers are Cust 669 or Rangiora 7507.
