Call for African trade aid
The New Zealand Trade Aid Movement has appealed to the Government to increase its assistance to the frontline black States in Southern Africa. The country’s only alternative trading organisation has joined an international campaign to support the frontline nations.
“Alternative trading with these countries can help reduce dependence on South Africa and promote genuine development,” said the movement’s spokesman, Mr Dennis Small, yesterday. "It believes that positive action by Western Governments is vital if the Southern African Development Co-ordination conference is to be successful,” Mr Small, said.
