NZPA-AAP Brisbane The former New Zealand stayer, Our Waverley Star, will be set for the Caulfield Cup and Cox Plate during the Melbourne spring carnival after his shock scratching fromthe sAust2ss,ooo Channel 9 Cup (2200 m at Doomben on Monday. Our Waverley Star was injured in a track mishap at Doomben on Thursday while working over 1000 m on the course proper.
The five-year-old, which has had a history of foot problems in the last six months, lost both front plates in the workout and; pulled up lame. Trainer, Nigel Landers,, and owner, Russ Hinze. examined Our Waverley Star immediately he pulled up and a veterin--arian, Fred Manahan; confirmed Our Waverley Star was lame in the near foreleg, prompting con/ nections to withdraw him from Monday's race. {i
