Girls’ High variety concerts
The Christchurch Girls' High School ParentTeacher .Association will celebrate its fiftieth year with jubilee variety concerts in the school auditorium next Wednesday and Thursday. : A special jubilee committee of past and present members and staff has put together a programme with professional and amateur performers. Several parents who are also professional entertainers have volunteered their sendees. They include Christopher Doig. the international opera ‘ singer, Linda and John [Milligan, from the Christchurch Operatic Society, the Kilmarnock Quartet and the TV comedian. Chris McVeigh. The concert will be compered by 3ZM’s Ken Ellis. Several old girls will perform items. C.G.H.S. pupils, including the choir, orchestra, and dance and drama groups, win also perform. Comedy will be provided by an item from the teachers plus one from the P.T.A. committee, scripted by A. K. Grant. At the conclusion of each evening the' cast and audience will join for a celebration supper. The concert is also a fund-raising venture for the P.T.A. The proceeds will go to several school projects.
