Ingenious stair lift
Peter Hayward Electrical is the South Island agent for the range of Scandinavian stair chairs and lifts which are manufactured in Auckland. I Scandinavian Stair Lifts have been manufacturing products to assist the elderly and disabled for the past , 20 years. ; One of the more popular products is a stair chair which climbs I up stairways. It runs on a monorail fixed at the steps. The chair is powered
by a trailer cable from a single-phase socket mounted near the centre of the flight The cable is wound on to a springmounted drum. All types of stairs can be equipped with a chair. The chair can climb spiral stairs and negotiate 90 and 180 degree bends. It can be mounted on the inside or outside of a stairway. I Call buttons located at the top and bottom of the stairway enable the chair to be called from either level.
The chair is approved to carry a maximum load of 136 kg at nine metres per l minute. When [it is i not in use, it can be folded away. ! An automatic safety brake is fitted and this, I together with other api proved features, ensures complete safety. ! The chair can be upholstered in wool or i heavy duty vinyl. There is a wide range of suitable materials available. The rail can be painted to match an existing decor.
