Mr Barry Simpson re-enacts the placing of the wedding ring on his wife Islay’s finger, to mark the couple’s fiftieth wedding anniversary tomorrow. Mr and Mrs Simpson were married at the Westport Presbyterian Church in 1938 and spent 36 years of their married life in Christchurch. The couple shifted to Karamea recently where Mr Simpson was born. They have eight children and 23 grandchildren.
