Ballet Society seeks contributions to evening
The Christchurch Ballet Society will hold its "Evening of Dance” this year at the Repertory Theatre on June 12. An invitation has been extended to teachers of all | forms of dance to telephone the society’s secretary, Kate Holtum, at 598-933, or Wynn' Smith, at 489-474, if they would like to provide an item for the programme. ) [ The society has proviided the special evening
i r'i i .' for many years, to enable young teachers to I participate in a programme without having [the responsiblity of organising a full recital. I [j ; It is also intended to give students experience of performing before; an audience, aand to show the public the many forms of dance taught in Christchurch. Auditions for the Ballet Society production will be held on Sunday at its
studio in the Shirley Community Centre. The production will be staged in mld-August The cast will have rehearsals each Sunday, and during the May school holidays. Auditions for grades three and four will be held at 8.30 a.m., for senior and pre-elementary dancers at 9.30 a.m. .and for intermediate and advanced dancers at 10.30 a ‘ m ~ ■ 1 I 'I ’
