Neroship big winning chance at Cambridge

Special correspondent Auckland Neroship, despite having an awkward second-row draw, should make amends for a' disappointing last-start fourth when he contests the first $lO,OOO heat of the Sires’ Stakes series at Cambridge this evening. Neroship, after making most of the pace in the National Bloodstock Classic Stakes at Cambridge on! March 29, faded to finish an average fourth. j This effort by the two-year-old colt was preceded by ■ a slashing third four nights earlier at Cambridge. He has proved a very good representative for his Bruntwood trainer, John Langdon, who will take over the reins from regular driver, Robert Mitchell, this evening. Neroship, a winner of four of his 11 race, will find strong opposition from the likes of Motu Mister Smooth, Kalkadoon and last Friday’s Alexandra Park

winner, Bombshell. Motu Mister | Smooth is rated highly by his co-trainer [ and driver, Colin Butler, and lived up to his opinion by pacing a game race for second to Tight Connection at Cambridge on' March 25. Kalkadoon continued his good form with a solid effort for third to Tight Connection and Bombshell at Cambridge on March 29 and adds to the puzzle. [The first leg of the T.A.B. double, the Great Northern Bloodstock Graduation, could see the impressive last-start winner, Inclination, carry on his winning way. '

Inclination won with plenty in hand by two and a half lengths at Cambridge on March 25. ; His main opposition should come from Chance Minbar and Smooth Kiwi, while another last-start victor at Cambridge, Tabella Ace, should be able to overcome her 20-metre handicap and win the second leg. | ! j
