Accommodation still available
According to a recent news release, accommodation in j south-east Queensland is still available during ( World Expo ’BB.
The results of a survey suggests that there are more than | two million room nights still available ! in Brisbane, the Gold and Sunshine Coasts. I I. Four and five star a<9
commodation is difficult to obtain, but many good quality hotels and motels still have plenty of vacancies.
(Accommodation on the Gold and Sunshine Coasts is more freely available. These areas are connected to Brisbane by reliable transport services.
The Queensland Tour-
ist and Travel Corporation also expects to have several hundred homes available through its homestay programme. This programme enables visitors to Queens- j landjto stay in a Queensland,! home and experience local lifestyles. The most popular months for overseas visitors I are May, July and October.
Apparently, about 68 per cent lof all room nights available in the Brisbane ! metropolitan region during Expo are already reserved. This leaves some 399,000 room nights still available. The survey of accommodation was commissioned following high ticket sales for World Expo ’BB. i
