Excellent birthday book
Before planning a trip to Australia this year it is best to start with a copy of “Australia 1988,” the 200th birthday book ; which is especially designed for New Zeala'nders. It is available free from travel agents or ; direct from the Australian Tourist Commission in Auckland. This excellent 160-page publication contains almost everything a potential traveller will want to know. There is a directory of each state, accommodation guide with room rates, and a good map. An extensive section
covers various options for travel within Australia and typical fares for interstate journeys. Tours and excursions such as the popular Queensland rail tour and Kuranda tourist train, are also included. Many specialist interests are catered for. There is a directory for some of Australia’s 2000 national parks, a section on farm holidays, a guide to the Qreat Barrier Reef, and more. A | special section covers World Expo ’BB which opens in Brisbane this j month.
