Rape case arrest
PA Wellington Wellington police have arrested a man, 1 ' aged 25, on a charge of the rape of an elderly woman more than two weeks ago. The woman, in her 90s, answered a knock at the door of her Newtown house on March 17 and
was badly beaten and raped. Police at the time described the attack as despicable. The woman had to be admitted to hospital. The man appeared in the District Court at Wellington yesterday.
