will enable mm to speak. Mr Noble, who is cared for at the St John of God Hospital, in Halswell, applied, with the help of his brother; to the Lottery Board for a grant to help him buy a device which synthesises speech. The Communicator enables a speech

impaired! person to enter a message on a keyboard and it then speaks the message i using an electronic voice. The cheque for $2605 will be presented to Mr Noble by Mrs Pauline O’Connor, I the Christchurch member of the Lottery Board committee
