Radio apology for P.M.

PA Wellington An Auckland radio station has apologised to the Prime Minister,) Mr Lange, and has agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to a charity because of a remark on a talkback show. The "Auckland Sun” reported yesterday that a

IZB host, Paul Holmes, asked callers to speculate on whether Mr Lange had "lost his marbles” after the Prime Minister’s regular Monday, appearance on the show two weeks ago.

The "Sun” said Mr Lange declined to make any further: appearance

on the show and sought legal advice. But a joint statement by Mr Lange and IZB’s manager, Mr Brent Harman, yesterday said that differences between the Prime Minister and the radio station over the comment by Paul Holmes on February 22 were

“amicably resolved.” It said: "Station IZB has apologised to Mr Lange and agreed to make a

donation to the Cleft Lip and Palate Support Group Auckland.

“Mr Lange regards this as a private matter and has no further comment to make.”
