Mixed quality stock offered for sale

Store lambs and sheep had an unspectacular sale at Addington yesterday with little top line stock presented for sale.

The quality of the stock' that was offered was mixed and many lambs showed signs . of stress from drought. Those of better condition made Sl3 to Sl5. Buyers were still willing to pay a premium for woolly Romney rams with up to 515.20 being paid for a line from S. M. and E. D. Johns. Kaikoura. A total of 7145 lambs were yarded, compared with 4975 last week. Adult sheep values were on a par with last week although the market lacked extra good quality stock.'. Better prices ranged from ($l5 to $l9. Two-tooth {prices also reflected the lack of top line stock, ranging from SIS to $26. ’ The yarding for adult sheep was (8676 compared with 11,990 last week.
