A Tenants' Protection Association worker, Mr Warren Smith, has been sacked. Mr Smith- said yesterday that he might take legal action against ; his former employer. His dismissal from i the
organisation was "unjustified" and, as yet, he had received no explanation for it, he said. ? ) Mr Smith said he “suspects why” he was sacked but was not prepared to comment until his grievance had been
heard by an industrial mediator. The chairman ) of the association’s management committee, Mr John Appleby, said Mr Smith had been advised by letter of ( the reasons for his dismissal. ! I
Mr Smith had been an officer of the association since April, 1986. Before joining he had worked for the Justice and Inland Revenue departments. The association helps in landlord-tenant disputes and with homeless people.
