Ozone control
PA Wellington Imports of chlorofluorocarbons and other substances which damage the ozone layer were to be restricted, said the Associate Minister for the Environment, Mr Woollastori, yesterday. As a first! step, a (licensing system for imports of controlled substances would be introduced in July. I ' ' ' The Government would also introduce a (quota system for industries which used controlled substances, investigate [ ways of reducing the; demand (for such chemicals;and look at ste/ner ways of limiting their use. As a start, the restrictions would be designed to freeze the quantities of C.F.C.s used in New Zealand to 1986 levels..
