Answers to women’s problems
Silhouette’s manager, Mr Kieran Barry, answers questions oftqn put to him by prospective female customers: | Will I receive individual attention? “Yes, each day you come in you will have]a trained figure consultant to look after you. Each time you come into the clinic your card is taken out of the file — we plan the programme for you and keep complete records of progress and results. "You are under personal supervision and not a member of a class or group situation.” Can I reduce size and weight from certain body areas? "Most certainly you can and we have been doing this for thousands _ of Christchurch women over the last 23 years. Areas like waist, hips and upper thighs are of course the most typical of these problem areas, but some women also wish to reduce flab from around the back, or maybe the neck, and many also wish to lift
and firm the bust area.” Is the course very strenuous? “No. because the most up-to-date equipment is used here and so little effort is required by the individual.” Are you sure I will get results? “Results come to those who really want results. If a person attends regularly and follows the programme designer for her, results will come automatically as the end factor.”
Do you mean that there is an individually prescribed course for each member?
"Yes, because no two people’s figure problems are the same." Do you cater just for overweight women? “No, we have a lot of women here simply for fitness or health purposes. Also, there are a number of women who come here
to gain weight in the right areas. We also find that the body massage provided here gives a lot of relief to arthritis sufferers.” Do you feel that women care for their figure and health more than men? “I do fee! that the average woman is inclined to get tied up in her home, cannot get out as much as men, or play as much sport. Their figure deteriorates very easily.” Do you feel that by
attending the Figure Clinic it is an opportunity to gain a better figure?
“Definitely. By attending Silhouette, it not only helps figure problems and general health, but also restores for many women self respect and the feeling of being young again.” Do you put the women on a diet? “No, we do not put the
women on a diet. Most women who have dieted and never exercised their body at all will find that they lose the weight in the wrong places. Usually, the face or bustline instead of reducing on the legs or hips or where they want to — also, they will find that they are left flabby all over. However, we do suggest sensible eating combined with our exercise courses." Do you still have members attending the figure clinic who joined three years ago? "Yes, they come here to keep themselves fit and trim and also because they enjoy their visits here." Do they bring friends in with them? “Yes, their friends i come along because they I see such a marked differ- | ence in their friend’s health and figure."
