A variety of attractions
A large promotions marquee will be a major feature at the Amuri show. It will display many of the attractions and services the Amuri district offers. i
Wai-ora Apiaries from Waiau will be demonstrating various honeys and their uses. Mrs Margaret Thompson, who will be spending some time at the
display along with her husband, Carl (the beekeeper), and Miss Elspeth Gray, says that their main crop is honey dew which originates from beech forests. Part of the display will be a video which will let people (know how the product is made. Wdi-ora Apiaries have hives (throughout North
Canterbury ■ from Parnassus to Hanmer. Another interesting display will be an arts and crafts market.
Many North Canterbury products including woodwork, pottery; dried flowers and hand-sewn toys will be on sale during the show.
The Boyle River lodge will be promoting their
popular camps for adults as well as the facilities of; the lodge. Hanmer Springs will also be represented by the local promotions organisation and the Friends (of the Forest.
A display of bird lifejinj North Canterbury will feature all the native! species as well as those which have migrated from Australia.
Other displays will be put on by the Forest and Bird Society, the Depart) ment of Conservation and the Girl Guides. The local Women’s Division (I of Federated Farmers will have a drug and alcohol educational display. I '
