No MAFTech cuts
No cutbacks in staff or research programmes were planned in the south central division of MAFTech, according to Mr Dave Joblin, the; regional director. Mr Joblin said he was confident the . division would meet its net funding requirements this year, made necessary by the Governments cuts in financial backing for agricultural research.
In a newsletter to staff, Mr Joblin said .the region had no intention of “pruning any of our (scientists” because they were essential for the organisation’s ultimate success.
However, in MAFTech’s northern region division which includes ; the Ruakura Animal Research Centre, at Hamilton,! cuts in staff and research! programmes are possible, according to reports.
