Autobahns safest
Autobahns are the safest roads in Europe, according to the latest statistics. While accidents over ali rose beyond the two million mark for the first time last year, injuries and deaths on the autobahns were the lowest in the 34 years that figures have been compiled. What is more, German autobahn deaths, at seven a billion kilometres driven, are well below those of France, Italy or Austria, all of which have speed limits.
