Dog registration
Sir,—As a victim of the activities of other people’s animals, I write in protest against the proposed increase of dog registration fees for the upkeep of the dog pound. This attitude will, of course, result in more dogs being abandoned as the cost of owning and feeding a dog will be prohibitive. Unfortunately, the City Council, Dogwatch and the S.P.C.A. are all recycling unwanted dogs. Controlled breeding of all dogs should be encouraged, , with Alsatians
reserved for police work. Dogs should not be more important than children and the council should look to its priorities. — Yours, etc., M. A. HOGAN. February 22, 1988.
