Balloon jump to be cancelled?
PA Auckland Two world-renowned Auckland bungi-jumpers say they will have to cancel plans to jump from a hot air balloon off Takapuna Beach if they cannot find a sponsor soon. Mr A. J. (Alan John) Hackett and Mr Chris Sigglekow had hoped to make 500 m jumps this month after many weeks
of planning. Mr Hackett stopped central Auckland crowds on Friday with a successful jump from the 22storey Auckland Stock Exchange building. He said yesterday that about $50,000 was needed to cover the cost of the jumps, and if a sponsor was not found by the end of the week, jump plans would be shelved.
