Changing to meet a new need
Movieland Home Video, formerly Quills, has been designed with customer needs in mind. Conveniently located outlets with attractive surroundings combine with the latest movie releases and a huge variety of tapes to give what the management believe is the best home video service in town.
From small beginnings, the video industry has developed to meet a growing demand for quality and diversity. Operating through these changes, Movieland Home Video has come to understand its customers and the home video market. Their new, fresh outlets reflect the knowledge and experience they have gained.
The group manager, Mr Malcolm Harris, has been with the company for some years, and has a keen sense of his customers’ requirements gained from his long experience in catering to their needs. His team has made a commitment to provide the best in home video entertainment service, including multiple copies of popular movies, video equipment for hire or purchase, a fully computerised operation and a wide selection of titles
and categories. Library membership is free and additional cards for family members are available, but there is a $5.50 charge to cover the cost of tape damage. I'his also covers damage caused by faulty machines. All membership cards include a personal photograph so that they cannot be used by anyone else, and all former Quills members are automatically part of the Movieland Home Video family. The five branches, four in Christchurch and one in Timaru, provide the full range of home video services. Customers can hire or buy the equipment itself, hire movies, or buy special packages which include the hire of a video player plus two tapes for $2O. From a selection of over 70 titles, customers can buy brand new movies for as little as $3O. These include such popular selections as "Gone With the Wind” and "Dr Zhivago.” The staff and management at Movieland Home Video look forward to welcoming new members as their company repositions itself to meet the exciting changes in the industry and the market.
