Canterbury Horse and Pony Breeders’ Show

The premier award, me Isaac Wildlife Trophy for the supreme champion of all breeds, was won by the two-year-old filly, Kirkwood Aspiring, for the second successive year at the Canterbury Horse and Pony Breeders’ Show. Exhibited by J. S. and B. A. Heard, Kirkwood Aspiring was judged supreme champion from the two rings of the New Zealand Pony Breeders’ and New Zealand riding pony ring by the two visiting Australian judges, Nr Philip Irwin and Mrs Mary Willsallen. The Riding Pony Stud Book Society Trophy for the runner-up was awarded to the Shetland stallion, Wynyard Conrad, exhibited by P. C. and L. H. Lewis, also from Christchurch.
